Office of the Vice President for Research

The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) at NAU advances the scope and impact of scholarly work across campus by fostering an environment which encourages and inculcates creativity, innovation and excellence. The OVPR provides leadership to promote the university's research enterprise and to its reporting units through which are managed the substantial financial and other resources that support the scholarship and creative activities of NAU faculty, staff, and students.

The OVPR coordinates and oversees the following activities:

• intramural grant programs for faculty, students and staff
• NAU intellectual property policy and technology transfer
• research administration, compliance, and policy
• undergraduate research initiatives
• university-wide research and public service partnerships
• strategic environmental initiatives
